Their studio

Watch this video to embark on Carral & Anzano’s creative journey in their studio in Barcelona. They share a retrospective of their career and creative experimentation so far. As individuals, and as a couple, reflecting on their artistic life together.

The creative process of an artist can be solitary. By sharing our studio, however, we start a dialogue which makes that in every piece of work there is each other’s view.

There is a direct relationship between the work and myself - a process of being alert, while in creation, where experiences flourish and life happens.

Carmen Anzano

If I defined an underlying discourse of my work since 1980, it is about the dialogue which I establish with the space that surrounds me. I started painting the metro undergrounds, as an exploration of empty spaces and energies that can capture the spectator. That evolved into mechanic artefacts and invented architectures - an inner world of freedom.
